The Abs Diet
The Diet is commonly known as nutritional diet which has been
implemented to change ones life style. The abs diet is based on the
concept of the 12 Power Foods. These are;
- Almonds
- Beans and legumes
- Spinach and green vegetables
- Dairy (fat-free/low-fat)
- Oatmeal (no sugar added)
- Eggs
- Turkey, steak, chicken and fish
- Peanut butter
- Olive Oil
- Whole grain bread/cereal
- Extra protein
- Raspberries and berries
The Abs Diet basically comprises of six meals which are periodically
consumed during the day. The major meals are breakfast, lunch and dinner
which should at least consist 3 out of the 12 power foods. It does not
necessarily focus on abdominal muscles but it has been popularly known
as an acronym representation of the 12 Power Foods. However it is stated
that if you follow this diet your abdominal muscles gradually start to
show and become visible.
The diet is different from some nutritional diets as it gives one
extra meal a week at which you will be allowed to consume as much food
as you like and it does not matter on what kind of foods you consume.
The best guideline is to eat six meals a day as this will not create
an imbalance to your energy levels. A research has shown that it is a
very tremendous eating plan and also an additional of three snacks
combined with regular meals will make a proportional balance, hence more
energy, lost fat and an increase of lean body mass.
For example you may follow this sample time schedule:
8 a.m.: breakfast
11 a.m.: snack
1 p.m.: lunch
4 p.m.: snack
6 p.m.: dinner
8 p.m.: snack
